For a long time, I thought printing to PDF was limited to those owning Adobe Acrobat Professional. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there is a free tool aptly named PDFCreator.

There is also CutePDF from acro software.. A really easy to use printer replacement for printing to PDF under windows.
It is what I have been using since our sales department decided they needed my acrobat licence.

openoffice has the neat tool to print to pdf from microsoft documents and their own.

I have started writing my documents in LaTeX and the package I used generates PDF output if thats worth anything. I’ve heard good things about Open Office, might have to give it a try.
